Lisa Frank Revival!

If you were a child of the late 80′s and 90′s like me, (and owned articles of clothing that resembled those below :/), your gonna go BANANAS when I tell you that Lisa Frank is making a comeback!

Yes, that’s right kids, it’s time to knock the dust off your rainbow trapper keepers and pencil cases and start filling them with a whole new line of Lisa Frank products you can bring to the work place (since unfortunately we aren’t in 3rd grade anymore).

So hop on over the the Hipster Mecca: Urban Outfitters and save up your paycheck because this Lisa Frank stuff is priced just like everything else in that store and you’re gonna need to save up your allowance if you want to get the Vintage Stars Sticker Set AND the Colorful Creations Poster Book to decorate your office cubicle with.

As for me, I’ll be bringing the Vintage Spiral Notebooks to meetings from now on <3

SIDE NOTE: In a weird “psychic” moment, Last week I was cleaning out an old drawer filled with things from a previous employer and I discovered 2 ORIGINAL Lisa Frank Stickers which have been living on my cell phone case since last week… I am so ahead of the trend :)

Dear Internet, Thank you for being AWESOME this week.

During a boring or stressful week at work (this being a combination of both) there is nothing I need and appreciate more than LOL’ing at my desk like a lunatic while my co-workers confusingly glare at me. I want to thank the internet for continuing to be full of random things that put a smile on my face on a daily basis and keep me from (1) jumping out a window and (2) throwing my stapler at someone’s face.

My “Grown Up” Bathroom Redesign

So I bought my new bathroom decorations for my grown up apartment! It’s very “English countryside?” I’m a flower freak and purple lover so it’s borderline overly girly but zen enough for relaxing and bubble bath time :)

Shower Curtain: $32, Bed, Bath and Beyond

Door hanger: $12, HomeGoods

Flower pictures: $40, HomeGoods

Blue Towels: $4 each, KMart; Purple & Blue: $7 each, HomeGoods; Green & Beige Washcloth: $4 each

Flower shower curtain hooks: $6, KMart

White foam bath mat: $12, HomeGoods

The debate is still out on if I'll tile the floor but if so: $0.79 per tile, Lowe's

Coral and Spearmint Nails

Last week I “pinned” a photo from my good friend Rae of the most fantastic spring nails. Bright orange and cool spearmint green alternating in reverse triangle sections. The original post from http://pshiiit.com is called “The Triangle on the Nail” (or at least that’s what my google translator says since the original blog is french). Anyways, I loved it and this week went shopping in search of my own tropical/springtime colors! I don’t have the steadiest of hands so I just divided my nail into two parts diagonally across and painted each section in one easy stroke. And since my attention span at work has diminishing at a rapid pace, I couldn’t help but continuously stare at my happy nails all day while day dreaming about going on vacation someplace warm!

Inspiration nail on the left. My attempt on the right. How'd I do?

My Future Kitchen Pt. 1

Planning for my “real adult” apartment is underway. The first room I’ve been tackling is the kitchen, since stocking up on small items such as plates and accessories doesn’t kill my bank account right now. What is a bit strange is the things I’ve purchased I love but they don’t match my “dream kitchen” aesthetic, so I’ll need to figure out a way to pull in more bright colors somehow. I’ve got a green, purple, teal, thing going on but I love a kitchen with whites and yellows… woops! What to do… what to do…

San Francisco – Day 6

Well today I arrived back in humid/crazy-weathered Boston. I have to confess I’m not too pleased to be back :( There is something wonderful about being 3000 miles away from all your responsibilities, and every day life dilemmas. The break was much needed and SF was the perfect city with the perfect host! Our last day was spent finishing up our watercolor paintings (mine looks ridiculous and of course my friends is breathtakenly beautiful).

Then we grabbed delicious sushi and udon at Godzilla Sushi and road a cablecar and walked around China town sampling more teas (I purchase a Blue Herbal “tea” which isn’t actually tea but a kind of grass that grows along the hillside in China near the ocean and supposedly eases anxiety) and found a Bansky!!! Who is Bansky?? He’s a crazy street artist, who inspired the film “Exit Through the Gift Shop” google it. We then headed to Japantown, ate our last fro-yo together and watched Jeeves and Wooster until I was forced to head to the airport. There was one plus to heading home… in the cab to the BART our cab driver out of the blue was like “we’re near the Full House house want to see it???” UMMM HELL YES! I had that stupid theme song in my head the entire trip so seeing that house was the perfect ending to a perfect vacation! I’m so sad to be back, but hopeful that I’ll someday soon head out west again!
